Michigan currently can assert its position as one to the top states nationally for its higher education system. The problem is not talent creation, it’s talent retention. Many of our top students don’t stay in Michigan after they graduate. Creating desirable centers for young professionals is key to Michigan’s economic recovery. Michigan has unique assets in its geography that should make this possible. They also have strengths in their land for agriculture, an true growth industry sector they should be exploiting.
